The story behind the ritual.
How a curiosity about the moon, the body, and ancient bathing rituals became House of Lunar Return.
Hi I’m Lindsay
I've always been fascinated by the relationship between our inner world and the natural rhythms that surround us. The moon, to me, is the ultimate reflection. It carries a feminine energy I believe we can all tap into when we slow down enough to notice it.
House of Lunar Return began with a simple question I kept returning to: how do I deepen my relationship with myself? After months of exploring through therapy and journaling, I wanted to understand what I actually thought, what I liked, and what my body was trying to tell me. What I found was that when I slowed down and tended to myself with intention, something shifted.
What Drew Me In
Astrology, the body, and the rituals we've forgotten.
For years, I've been drawn to astrology. What pulled me in wasn't prediction, it was reflection. It gave me a language for understanding cycles, seasons of growth, periods of rest, and the energies we move through in life. Around the same time, I became interested in the nervous system and how modern life keeps us disconnected from our bodies, and I began looking for practices that could create real moments of calm and presence.
That curiosity led me to ancient bathing rituals. Across cultures and throughout history, bathing was never only about getting clean. In hammams, thermal baths, and communal traditions, these were sacred acts of restoration, reflection, and connection.
I found myself wondering what we had lost as life became faster, and House of Lunar Return was born from that exploration.
A practice worth sharing.
I started weaving spa rituals into the monthly lunar cycle, using each phase of the moon as a guide and pairing it with journal prompts themed to the astrology of the season. The ritual creates a feeling of safety in the body, so that when you sit down to reflect, you feel ready to go deeper. And when reflection brings something big to the surface, the ritual is there to soothe it.
After testing the practice with myself and sixteen other women, I noticed the same themes appear again and again. They came away feeling restored, with quieter minds and a deeper awareness of the rhythms of nature and their own feelings.
Begin your own ritual.
My hope is that every product, ritual, and experience created through House of Lunar Return feels like a deep exhale, a reminder that rest is valuable, beauty has purpose, and our intuition is always available when we create enough space to hear it.
